F&TMT 1.3.7 - Less Mashing, HP, and more saving!
Hello everyone,
It's been a long time! But I am not done with the updates yet! 1.3.7 here makes Fidel & The Maker's Trial more accessible than ever before! The updates are small, but meaningful. Let's take a look!
- Save Gem added! This item will be given to the player when they activate the very first save point the player finds. This item allows the player to create a save at any time, but it will consume the item. Though the game can easily be completed in a single sitting, this item was added in the event an emergency comes up during your play session and you need to quickly leave.
- Give Up skill added. This skill will allow the player to quickly "defeat" themself (or in other words, lose the battle).
- Shorter Maker fight! The fight with the final boss, The Maker, was quite long. It's still pretty long as it should be, but the overall HP has been reduced by about 20% which will speed the battle up.
- Reduced Crit Chance. Both difficulty modes have had the crit chance reduced by a couple %.
- Improved boulder logic. In order to prevent a rogue boulder from spawning (that I thought I had squashed in the last update) I completely remade the boulder logic.
- Less space-bar mashing! Last update I added the press-to-jump mechanic. Well, I guess I swung the pendulum too far, now the jump mechanic was requiring the player to mash the spacebar way too much. Now Fidel will automatically jump if there are multiple jumps in a row that all go the same direction (for example, 3 jumps to the right will happen automatically).
- Some events were fixed to prevent player input.
And that's it! Pretty short list.

Normally after an update to this game, I also provide a devlog update on the progress of my current game. But honestly, there is so-so much to cover that it's just better to drop a link to my development thread on RMW where I typically post monthly updates on progress.

- Progress is slow but steady.
- The third level is in development and features cool 4x style mechanics!
- Improved traversal mechanics!
- New game systems to encourage exploration!
